Transcripts from the flight to the Moon capture some of the wonder and novelty of looking back at Earth.


Astronaut photograph AS11-36-5339 was acquired on July 16, 1969, with a Hasselblad camera using a 250 millimeter lens. It is provided by the ISS Crew Earth Observations Facility and the Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit, NASA Johnson Space Center. Astronaut photograph AS11-36-5302 was acquired on July 16, 1969, with a Hasselblad camera using an 80 millimeter lens and is provided by the Lunar and Planetary Institute. Both photos have been cropped and enhanced to improve contrast, and lens artifacts have been removed.
