SeaWiFS had a clear view of New Zealand's Fiordland National Park on February 14, 2002. The opening in the cloud cover also revealed a dark green phytoplankton bloom in the Tasman Sea to the north of the park. The brighter water along the South Island's western shore may be due in part to suspended rock flour that has been carried to sea in glacial meltwater. Also note the vortex street being shed by Mt. Taranaki on New Zealand's North Island.
